Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). If you sign up via Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
We collect information about how you use the Service including features used, words processed (count only — not content), writing modes selected, and session duration. This helps us improve the product.
Payment data is handled entirely by Paddle, our payment processor. We do not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment details. We receive confirmation of payment status and subscription tier from Paddle.
We collect standard technical data including IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system for security and analytics purposes. We use this data in aggregate and do not use it to build individual profiles.
2. What We Do NOT Collect
We do not permanently store the text you submit for humanization. Input text is processed in real time through our AI pipeline and discarded after the response is generated. We have no record of what you wrote.
We never use your content to train AI models — ours or any third party's. Your writing is not used to improve any machine learning system.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data such as health information, political views, religious beliefs, or financial details beyond what is necessary for payment processing.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your account information is used to authenticate you and manage your subscription. Usage counts are used to enforce plan limits (e.g., 500 words/day on the free plan).
Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us understand which features are valuable and where the product needs improvement. Individual users cannot be identified from this data.
We use your email to send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts, password reset) and, with your consent, product updates. You can unsubscribe from non-transactional emails at any time.
IP addresses and device data are used to detect suspicious activity, prevent fraud, and protect the security of our platform.
4. Data Sharing
Humnly does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
We share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform: Supabase (database and authentication), OpenAI (AI processing — text is processed but not stored or trained on per OpenAI's API terms), Paddle (payment processing), and Vercel (hosting).
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Humnly, our users, or the public.
5. Data Security
All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plain text.
Access to user data is strictly limited to personnel who need it to operate and maintain the Service. We conduct regular access reviews.
While we take security seriously and implement industry best practices, no system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us at security@humnly.com.
6. Your Rights
You can view and update your account information at any time from your dashboard settings.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon deletion, your account data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized usage statistics may be retained.
You can request a copy of your account data by emailing privacy@humnly.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are in the European Union or California, you have additional rights including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to object to processing. Contact us at privacy@humnly.com to exercise these rights.
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use Google Analytics or other tracking systems that build cross-site profiles.
We do not use advertising cookies or allow third-party advertisers to place cookies on our site. Humnly is ad-free.
8. Children's Privacy
Humnly is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at privacy@humnly.com.
9. International Data Transfers
Our servers are located in the United States and India (via Supabase). By using Humnly, you consent to your data being processed in these locations. We ensure that any international data transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
11. Contact Us
For any privacy-related questions, data requests, or concerns, please contact us at: privacy@humnly.com. We aim to respond to all privacy inquiries within 5 business days.
